Close to becoming extinct because of the demand for higher yielding varieties the Minuta now thrives in the Nebrodi mountains in Sicily due to the Slow Food Presidium. The Olives for Davines are farmed by Mr. Carmelo Messina, founder of the Slow Food Presidium of Ficarra, Messina.
