North Laine Hair Company is located right in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine on Gardner Street a few doors along from Komedia. Gardner Street is closed to traffic on Saturday & Sunday from 10am to 7pm.

The nearest carpark is NCP Brighton Theatre on Church St (opens in a new tab) which charges £6 per hour. This is 2 minutes walk to the salon.

There is also a Brighton & Hove Council carpark at Trafalgar Street (opens in a new tab) which charges around £3.30 an hour. This is 5 minutes walk to the salon.

The cheapest nearby car park is the Brighton & Hove Council carpark at London Road (opens in a new tab), adjacent to Sainsburys, New England St and charges around £1.60 an hour. This carpark is a 10 minute walk to the salon.

Why North Laine and not North Lane?

Laine is an old Sussex word meaning plot of land that refers back to how the farming land around Brighton was described when Brighton was a small fishing village. North Laine has been a conservation area since 1977 and was saved from major redevelopment in the 1970’s by Brighton planning officer Ken Fines. Ken is credited with saving the North Laine from being demolished and being replaced with a flyover, carpark and 70’s architecture so we have a lot to thank Ken for!

The district is now viewed as the cultural hub in Brighton & we are very proud to have been one of the first hair salons in this area which has now become a hub for high quality hair salons.
