Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Acidic Bonding Concentrate 5-Min Liquid Mask is designed for hair that’s been lightened, coloured or heat-styled as it loses moisture and strength quickly. The light, silky liquid slides through wet hair and melts in rather than sitting on top. You’ll feel the slip straight away: your comb glides through and your lengths feel soft and supple before you’ve even rinsed.

The formula is built around Redken’s 16% Conditioning Care Complex, their most intensive conditioning blend. It combines a high concentration of cationic conditioning agents with conditioning oils and citric acid. The acidic formula helps balance hair’s pH after colour and lightening and provides bonding care that melts into hair. In just five minutes, hair is up to 3× stronger and 14× easier to detangle*. With continued use, you’ll notice longer-lasting softness and hydration, plus shine you can see days later.

Your hair should be kept at a pH level of 4.5 – 5.5. When hair gets to a pH of 7.5 the cuticle starts to lift and you will then get colour fade & undertones are exposed. A pH of 8.5 means there is a change in your hair and scalp’s eco-system which can cause dandruff and slow hair growth. At pH level 10.5 the structure is affected and you will see frizz and breakage.

Lightening and colour services raise the hair’s pH and leave the internal structure vulnerable. This acidic formula helps restore balance and targets weakened bonds to reduce breakage. The cuticle is visibly smoothed, so you’ll notice more shine, smoother lengths and easier detangling straight away.

This mask has a fresh, clean fragrance and is suitable for most hair types and is gentle on colour. We wouldn’t recommend it for curly textured hair because of its silicone content.

How much to use:

Use enough to coat your mid-lengths and ends evenly. That’s about a 10p-sized amount for short to shoulder-length hair, and a little more for long or thick hair. Concentrate it where your hair is most lightened or damaged. You don’t need to apply it at the roots.

How to use:

• Apply to damp hair after shampooing, focusing on your mid-lengths and ends
• Leave on for 5–10 minutes
• Rinse thoroughly
• Use in place of your conditioner at least once a week, or as often as needed.
